I’ll get a 7 Free Windows Home Premium upgrade in the mail, and I want to purchase an upgrade to Windows 7 Professional for $ 30 since I am a college student. Will that require a clean installation?

I installed my office at 7 Pro Windows, you will find everything on my wireless network but my laptop with XP Home. I met with the network settings on both machines and restarted each. I do not see how to configure a HomeGroup requiring each W7.
